Keep Pick Faces Stocked by Automating Replenishment Processes

Keeping picking locations well-stocked with accurate inventory is critical to maintaining effective picking and order fulfillment operations. The same picking technologies used for order picking — including RF handheld scanners, pick-to-light and voice-directed picking — can be used to automate the replenishment process. Honeywell Intelligrated utilizes its next-generation Momentum™ warehouse execution system to drive automation and ensure inventory availability. When a system detects low inventory levels of a particular SKU, it triggers a replenishment order from its reserves. Strategic use of case and pallet flow racks also allows for reserve stock to be moved into forward-picking locations as needed.
