How Warehouse Execution Systems Support Brownfield Facilities
How Warehouse Execution Systems Support Brownfield Facilities
Sonam Chokhani
July 10, 2024
Brownfield facilities are existing warehouses or distribution centers that are being modernized or upgraded. These facilities face unique challenges, as they must integrate new technologies and processes while continuing to operate efficiently. Honeywell Intelligrated’ s Momentum Warehouse Execution Systems WES, can provide significant support to Brownfield facilities in their modernization efforts.
Momentum WES is a software-driven ecosystem that is hardware-agnostic, meaning it can be integrated with existing automation hardware, regardless of the vendor. This allows Brownfield facilities to optimize their existing hardware and avoid the high upfront costs of replacing it.
Momentum WES also enables more intelligent operations by factoring in multiple process-specific data attributes that impact output. This allows the system to make workflow and labor adjustments on the fly to avoid typical warehouse delays and bottlenecks.
In addition, Momentum WES can alleviate human resource constraints by eliminating much of the mundane, repetitive work that staff members typically perform. This allows available staff to focus on managing critical end-to-end warehouse processes.
Momentum WES also offers flexible and scalable architecture, allowing for smooth technology upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.
In conclusion, Warehouse Execution Systems like Momentum WES can provide significant support to Brownfield facilities in their modernization efforts, enabling them to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
