Honeywell Celebrates National Safety Month: Creating a Safety-First Culture

June 1st marks the beginning of the 25th National Safety Month. This annual observance focuses on raising public awareness of the leading safety and health risks, aiming to decrease the number of injuries and fatalities in the workplace and in the community.

Safety is more important than ever, as 2019 saw a 2% increase in the number of preventable deaths in the workplace, totaling 4,572. Observances such as National Safety Month are paramount to raising awareness about safety and health hazards and creating an environment where employers, workers, and organizations can put safety first.

Honeywell, a leading global provider of safety solutions, is proud to support the National Safety Council (NSC) in its annual observance of National Safety Month.

At Honeywell, we are committed to building a culture of safety in the workplace. We constantly engage with our customers and partners to understand their safety challenges and to provide them with solutions to help implement a safety-oriented culture.

We believe that the key to keeping workers safe is building a workplace culture where safety comes first, and where workers are encouraged to make the right decision when it comes to their safety and that of their co-workers.

A culture of safety places prevention first and considers Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be the last line of defense in any safety plan which focuses on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths.

Creating a safety-first culture begins with creating awareness of the risks and hazards, then educating workers to change the way in which they perform their tasks, so their exposure to on-site risks is reduced and injuries are eliminated.
