Listen to the episode “Voice Solutions for Pick, Pack, Putaway and Employee Communications” with Honeywell’s Tim Jackson and James Hendrickson here.

Here are a few takeaways from the podcast:

  • Honeywell Smart Talk empowering the frontline workers with unified communications. Honeywell Smart Talk is a true voice-enabled unified workforce communications application that tackles the problem of fragmented communications. You receive enterprise-grade security for voice calling, text and media messaging, and user presence.Smart Talk can be added to Honeywell mobile computers or to most types of mobile workers and associates already carry. The all-in-one communication solution gives instant mobile communication capabilities to workers, allowing them to better serve customers on demand, where they are, providing immediate customer service to better improve profitability.
  • Honeywell Voice: Store It. Pick It. Pack It. Ship It. Honeywell voice-directed solutions are used by nearly one million mobile workers every day, throughout the world, in a variety of tasks/workflows, in almost every kind and size of DC/warehouse operation. Honeywell voice-guided solutions have been proven to increase productivity by up to 35% and accuracy to 99.99%+. For example, in picking processes where workers follow a series of instructions for specific pick locations, products and quantities, these tools provide needed guidance and verification at every step. Voice is available in more than 35 languages and has been proven to dramatically reduce training and onboarding time, especially in peak seasons with highly transient workforces.
  • Honeywell Voice for maintenance and inspection checklists. Checklists and work cards are essential parts of almost every industry. They are components of a traditional system whereby instructions are read and followed, discrepancies and measurements recorded, and at the end of the procedure, certain steps may be signed off on as verification of accomplishment. This can be a very inefficient process because it forces technicians to enter their observations as a separate step from the inspection process. Honeywell has worked with companies around the world to develop applications for:
    • Aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) inspection
    • Fleet truck inspection
    • Automotive inspection
    • Logistics inspection and assembly
    • Oil and gas inspection
    • Utility field inspection
    • Health care inspection
    • And more in process
  • Honeywell Voice in Retail. Honeywell's Guided Work for Retail is a simple yet powerful solution that voice-enables workflows in retail, allowing associates to work eyes-free and hands-free. Supermarkets, hypermarkets, and do-it-yourself are among the many retail environments where this solution is a perfect fit. Guided Work for Retail allows for multiple forms of input, including voice data capture, barcode scanning and keyboard data entry, which improves productivity, accuracy and consistency.

Honeywell’s mobile computers, including the Honeywell CT40 on the Mobility Edge™ platform, integrate with our Guided Work for Retail solution to help keep associates on task as well as in sync with other associates and store operations (planograms, in-store merchandising, inventory lookup for customers on the sales floor and more).  The Guided work for Retail also integrates with qualified third-party Android/iOS mobile devices.

Listen to the episode “Analytics and Insights to Optimize Workers and Assets” with Honeywell’s Doug Brown. To read our latest Op Intel brief and discover the possibilities of our cloud-based solutions,  learn more about Operational Intelligence.

Here are a few takeaways from the podcast:

  • Operational Intelligence was built as a solution to solve common customer blind spots. With embedded hardware sensors designed into Honeywell products, the solution continuously extracts performance data that is periodically sent to the cloud for analysis. Operational Intelligence provides an intuitive user interface to your IT assets’ performance metrics and delivers actionable insights that bridge the gap commonly missed by Asset Management or Mobile Device Management solutions.
  • Customers solutions seeking productivity gains with hardware utility intelligence. From network challenges to battery replacement, the sensors, radios, and accelerometers within our equipment allows warehouse managers to see how their equipment is being treated. Did you know that 25-30% batteries still have battery life and do not need replacement when investments are made? Operational Intelligence knows that, and it can also see network challenges that negatively impact worker productivity as Operational Intelligence allows leaders to track the signal strength from our devices throughout every access point in the building.
  • There is a growing concern common to all customers is how to keep their people safe. Be sure to catchup on our latest cleaning guide that offers cleaning tips for our mobility devices, here. Honeywell is taking “Find my Device” features and traceability process management workflows to the next level with NEW features listed below:
    • Asset check-out/check-in. Assign unique devices or assets to a specific associate, creating a chain of custody that allows for device tracing data.
    • Device cleaning manager. Set-up configurable cleaning protocols for each asset. Configurations can be per associate on an hourly, daily or in-between shift basis. Each cleaning event will be logged with the user, time and date for reporting.
    • Remote control and device system wipe. IT can now remotely access devices to assist the associate in troubleshooting or navigating their device, limiting the number of times the device is handled, while enforcing social distancing protocols.
    • Customer counter.Enforce occupancy by stationing associates at multiple entrances and exits with this cloud-based, easy to-use feature that allows them to simply add or subtract shoppers who enter and leave the store.
